He preferred to perform for children.
They understood better, after all.
The adults were too serious,
As adults always are.

His specialty was taking requests.

The adults asked him to juggle
Their income tax records,
Their responsibilities,
Their social lives,
Their motor oil,
Their emotions,
Their careers
Their minds,
The truth.

The children would demand he juggle
Their parents,
The trees,
The moon,
The air.

What did he care?
To him it was juggling.
But he hated to waste his gift
On the trivialities of the adults
